SUPSI University offers a position to a Phd candidate within the research activities of Institute of Design (IDe) at the Department of Environment Constructions and Design (DACD).
The PhD program is developed in partnership with University School of Design and Engineering of Barcelona in the doctoral courses of UVic-UCC.

The candidate will carry out research work within the 3 year-project LAUDS. Local Accessible Urban Digital and Sustainable Factories (LAUDS-Factories) funded by EU New European Bauhaus program.
The project is lead by TU Berlin and involves 12 partners from 7 countries in Europe in a full interdisciplinary context.
The position will offer a flexible work environment to carry out research through design activities at the FabLab, long and short visiting periods to participate to the Elisava Research and Doctoral School in Barcelona, the collaboration with a diverse team of interaction design researchers and masters students.
Specifically, the candidate will be actively involved in the development of activities conducted by the Institute of Design, including:

  • Supporting the configuration of an urban manufacturing project and process that reproduces models developed by partners.
  • Evaluating key components through the analysis of business models and documentation standards enhanced by the use of AI co-design activities.
  • Supporting the organization of co-design workshops and transdisciplinary dissemination events.
  • Assisting in project management and report production.
  • Supporting communication and dissemination of project results through publications and participation in events.

The position includes active participation in research meetings and exchanges within the Institute of Design, as well as involvement in the organization and development of activities at the SUPSI FabLab, the digital manufacturing laboratory of SUPSI.
