Since 2003, the Swiss Design Network has been promoting and fostering the development, quality and constant improvement of design research in the Swiss Universities of Design and Art.

The 2021 SDN Conference Design as Common Good has been perceived as a working conference from start to finish. What does this mean? It means that authors have shared and discussed their papers using slack groups and it means that each slack group has worked on finding out what their papers have in common. It means that junior and senior scholars have met practitioners, exchanged views and questions on theoretical issues. It also means that each group has made their best effort to come up with a format for their session that provides you with an opportunity to learn about their work and their findings in an engaging and interactive manner. So come and join them! Already, this working conference has identified new research opportunities, fostered new international connections and has produced a couple of paper ideas for researchers who "just met". As a working conference, Design as Common Good does not end, it is merely beginning!
