Futuress is a feminist platform for design-politics and a growing learning community striving to democratize access to design education.

Futuress is announcing their fourth study program: Coding Resistance. Co-curated with depatriachise design, this nine-week lecture series brings together a stellar constellation of speakers including Morehshin Allahyari, Iyo Bisseck, Timnit Gebru, Marwa Fatafta, Aimi Hamraie, Lucas LaRochelle, Maryam Mustafa, Maya Ober, Minna Salami, and Nakeema Stefflbauer. Starting on September 24, the program will explore various urgent topics such as discriminating algorithms, digital colonialism, queer and trans futurities, and more. Fees directly support our Fellowship, so by registering to the program, you are not only joining a diverse network but actively supporting the writing of the stories our design community desperately needs! Register Now!

Parallel to the lectures—which are accessible upon registration and available synchronously and asynchronously—Futuress offers a free Fellowship for people marginalized backgrounds (womxn and folks who are queer, trans, non-binary, Black, Indigenous, people of color, disabled, parents, and/have been system impacted, are immigrants, and anyone who has experienced systemic oppression and/or gender-based violence are encouraged to apply). Each person brings their research and interests to the group, which is facilitated by Cherry-Ann Davis, Iyo Bisseck, Maya Ober, and Nina Paim. As a community of transnational solidarity, Futuress supports the crafting of independent narratives, which will soon appear on their website. Apply Now!
