The SDN Publishing Grant 2024 is currently accepting submissions until February 29 2024.

How can one as a graphic designer, shift and relearn understandings of visual knowledge towards the social political context each of us is living in? And can this eventually lead to a more inclusive, co-existing, community-based and social-political reflective praxis?

What is ECOMADE? In a collaborative process, Joel Hügli has developed three sustainable partial solutions for different phases in the life cycle with ECOMADE: 1. ten design principles for sustainable mattresses, 2. new generation of a comfortable and sustainable mattress, 3. closed-loop recycling of mattress textiles.

Dividing captures a generous contradiction: it is as much about dividing things up, as it is about joining together.

The podcast that explores design as planetary praxis. The Swiss Design Network sees one of its roles as a supporting body for promising design researchers not only in connecting them but also in financially supporting them to publish their research or efforts through workshops and other public formats

New complex challenges and ideological shifts are shaking the very foundations of our society. Despite living in a highly informed and hyperconnected world, alienation and polarisation are evident in society. Digital media and communication tools are mostly perceived as progressive but they contribute to communication becoming increasingly abstract.

The SDN supports the dissemination and publication of research and other efforts by up and coming researchers and PhD candidates at Swiss Art and Design Universities. This can be done through workshops and various public formats.
